Specialist dermatology. Thoughtful care. Naturally confident skin.
Dr Bruna Gouveia is a Sydney specialist dermatologist providing comprehensive medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology, with particular expertise in skin cancer diagnosis, confocal microscopy, hair loss and personalised skin rejuvenation.
Her approach brings together diagnostic precision, evidence-based treatment and an appreciation of each patient’s individual features, priorities and stage of life.
Signature expertise
Skin cancer and advanced diagnosis
Detailed assessment of suspicious and complex lesions, including expertise in reflectance confocal microscopy and the non-invasive evaluation of pigmented lesions.
Hair and scalp disorders
Specialist investigation and treatment of female and male hair loss, inflammatory scalp disorders and scarring alopecias.
Medical dermatology
Diagnosis and management of acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, pigmentation, excessive sweating, keloids and other disorders of the skin, hair and nails.
Cosmetic dermatology
A considered approach to skin quality, facial ageing and rejuvenation, with treatments selected to preserve expression and maintain natural proportions.
Dermatology centred on the individual
Healthy skin is not defined by a single treatment or aesthetic ideal.
Dr Bruna takes time to understand the medical condition, the patient’s concerns and the broader context of their skin health. Her recommendations are individualised, measured and designed to achieve appropriate, natural-looking outcomes.
Comprehensive dermatology care:
-
Comprehensive assessment and management of acute, chronic and complex skin conditions, with care tailored to the individual and their stage of life.
-
Careful assessment of suspicious or changing lesions, together with diagnosis, treatment and ongoing surveillance for patients with skin cancer or increased risk.
-
Advanced diagnostic techniques can provide additional information about selected skin lesions and, in some circumstances, help reduce the need for an immediate biopsy.
-
Specialist assessment of hair loss and scalp conditions, with an emphasis on identifying the underlying cause before considering treatment.
-
Dermatological care for skin and hair concerns that may arise or change throughout a woman’s life, including those influenced by hormones, pregnancy and menopause.
-
Individualised management of acne and rosacea, together with treatment of persistent redness, pigmentation and scarring when appropriate.
-
Specialist-led laser and procedural treatments for selected vascular, pigmentary, scar-related and other dermatological concerns.
-
A considered medical approach to skin quality and aesthetic concerns, with treatments selected to preserve natural features rather than pursue a uniform aesthetic.
Expertise without excess
Dr Bruna believes that effective dermatology begins with an accurate diagnosis and a clear understanding of what matters to the patient.
In medical care, this means investigating carefully and explaining the available options.
In cosmetic dermatology, it means avoiding formulaic treatment plans and unnecessary intervention. The aim is not to change a person’s identity, but to support healthier skin, soften signs of ageing where appropriate and help each patient look rested, balanced and recognisably themselves.
The objective is not perfection. It is healthy skin and a result that feels authentic to you.
